One way that I have been re-styling dresses is to wear them as tops and tunics. Back in my clubbing days, I built up quite the selection of short little dresses, as my legs were my favorite feature to show off. Now, being in my thirties, many of those dresses tend to be a tad to short, especially being 5'7''. For those dresses that I love and can't part ways with, I have been pairing them with shorts and jeans, giving them a tunic look, and it has quickly become one of my favorite things to wear.
The dress I am wearing today is actually a new one from the Ceci Palm Beach Pop Up Shop. When I saw this dress, I immediately fell in love with it, as there is something about the cut and print that I was drawn to. Although I'd wear it to the beach by itself, I feel it is a touch too short (on me) for everyday wear, so I threw it on over a pair of jeans this past weekend. I tucked in the front to make the dress appear more like a top, which also gave me a little more shape. After having twins, I don't need to be wearing anything that makes my middle appear wider, ha!

What a great look, and I love how you showed various ways of wearing the tunic/dress. I buy short dresses all the time and wear them as tunics as well. Glad to know I'm not alone!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea to tuck a tunic into jeans like that! It looks adorable - I love that pattern!

At 5''10', I always have the same problem with dresses being too short. Great way to wear them as a tunic!

Lovely photos! And a really beautiful, summery tunic as well. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! Greetings from Sweden!
Such a great, fun look! I love the tuck-in aspect of it as well. I'm 5'9" so from one tall girl to another I completely understand some standard dresses being far too shot for us. I'm also a fan of skirts over jeans :) I even have a post about it!
