As many of you know, this past weekend Mike and I took on a mini vacation, sans kids, to Newport, RI where we attended a friend's wedding. When we first got the invite, I was beyond excited for a weekend away, but then, as any normal woman would, I started obsessing over what I was going to wear. The last thing I wanted to do was buy a new dress, or wear one that I own... again. When you reach your late twenties and early thirties, you become prime real estate for weddings, as the invites never stop piling in. While this is fun, and there is nothing better than witnessing your friends pledge their undivided love to one another, they can really take a toll on your bank account. In the recent years, I have purchased a countless number of bridesmaid and formal dresses, which all have gotten their fair share of use, but I really didn't want to wear, or be snapped, in one of these dresses again. That's when I remembered I could rent a dress. I have heard mixed reviews about Rent the Runway, an online dress rental site, where customers have had their dresses arrive damaged or didn't fit correctly. I didn't want to take this chance, so I was beyond excited when I heard about Best Dressed Charlestown, a brick and mortar store, here in the Boston area, where you can rent designer dresses.
Best Dressed, located in Charlestown, is a store where you can actually go in and try on dresses before renting one. The store, owned by sisters, Nikoleta and Vicky, has an amazing selection of designer dresses (BCBG, Ted Baker, Badgley Mischka, and Jay Godfrey to name a few) consisting of all different styles and sizes. How it works? You simply visit the store, try on dresses, and either reserve it for the date needed, or if you're a last minute person like I am, take it with you that day. You have five days before returning the dress, and the best part, they take care of the dry cleaning and minor repairs. Overwhelmed at choosing a dress? No problem! Nikoleta, with fashion stylist and buyer on her resumé, will fit you in the perfect dress. And it doesn't end with dresses, they have jewelry and bags that you can either rent or purchase to complete your outfit. Weddings, bridal showers, holiday parties, birthdays, Best Dressed has got you covered! Let's just say I won't be buying another dress for a long time!
