Happy Friday and Fourth of July weekend! Does everyone have fun plans? I'm heading up to Vermont for my cousins baby shower, then will be at the lake the rest of the weekend. I can't wait for another fun weekend in the sun with my family. On top of the holiday, July 3rd is the twins second birthday. I can't believe that they are turning two! We'll be keeping their birthday small and simple this year by having a cake and ice cream party at the lake with all of their cousins and lake friends. However, I will tell the boys that the fireworks are just for them, ha!
Now that we're in the midst of summer, we've entered the prime season for weddings and special occasions, so today I'm sharing a look that's perfect for attending such an event. This dress is another item that was in my Stitch Fix box (you can see the other items here). Not only do I love the navy color for summer, but I'm obsessing over the crochet detailing. It's so simple, yet elegant and perfect for summer. I added my lace nude heels (sorry if you're getting sick of them, they just go with everything) and a statement necklace to finish my look. Although this dress is perfect for a special occasion, it can also work great for the office with a pair of pumps (or flats) and a blazer.
If you're not familiar with Stitch Fix, you can learn more about the clothing subscription service here, and make sure you check out my last post to see the other items that were in my box this month.
So which of the five items that were in my Stitch Fix box did I end up keeping? The red Street Level clutch. Yes, unfortunately that was it for this months shipment.
The Kut From The Kloth boyfriend jeans were great (and a great price), but I have to admit that I already own three pairs of boyfriend jeans, and I wasn't looking for a new pair at this time.
This Donna Morgan navy dress is such a classic, and would be a great piece to add to my wardrobe, but the top of the dress is a touch too big (as you may have noticed in a couple of photos). So it was sent back.
The Market & Spruce stripe top (not shown) was also really cute, but I didn't love the fit. If it had been a bit more oversized, I would have kept it.
As for the Brixon Ivy lace top that I featured in my last post, I really loved it. I contemplated keeping it, but since I have two very similar black tops in my closet, I decided to be responsible and pass on having a third.
Although I only kept one item in this shipment, my stylist really nailed it with my style. After all, it's not her fault I already own a few very similar items #bloggerproblems. After giving her my feedback, I know that my next box will be ever better, and I can't wait for it to arrive next month!
Dress: Donna Morgan via Stitch Fix| Heels: Schutz (similar here and here - both on sale!)| Bag: Chanel| Sunnies: Chloé| Necklace: House of Harlow (on sale!)| Bracelets: Vita Fede (here, here and here)

What a perfect wedding outfit you've put together. I love the classic look of the dress paired up with trendy accessories, especially the heels. I could never see them paired up with too many things. Have a wonderful time getting away and happy birthday to the twins.

That's a gorgeous dress, and you're right it would be great for a wedding. Bummer about the fit though, I always hate sending things back when they're not quite right. Happy birthday to your little ones, I hope they had a blast at their lake party!
