There is something about a red dress that just goes hand in hand with the holiday season. If you have been following this blog for a while, you know that red is not my favorite color (pink is more my jam) but around this time of year, I always find a way to add the bold color to my wardrobe. Usually, it is with an accessory (like this scarf and these heels), but after eyeing this red cold shoulder dress, I had to have it. I actually got this dress this past summer, and you may remember how I styled it on the blog, here, wearing the sleeves the wrong way! I told you I was going to re-style it (the correct way) for the holidays, so today I'm sharing a perfect party ready look.
To make this dress appropriate for the cold weather, I chose to wear closed toe pumps and add a faux fur coat. I love how a great faux fur can instantly glam up an outfit, whether paired with jeans or a gown, and add a level of sophistication. This cream faux fur coat is from Chicwish. I got it last year, and have worn it with literally everything. Well, except sweatpants. If you're looking for a faux fur, Chicwish has a great selection, and they are all under $85. I've linked some of my favorites below.
To make this dress more formal for the holidays, I added a statement necklace. I love how adding a statement necklace to a top or dress can change the look, and make it more glam. One of my favorite places when shopping for statement necklaces is Happiness Boutique. Not only do they have an amazing selection of necklaces, but the prices are great (would you ever guess this necklace is under $27?) and they offer free shipping. This is my second necklace from Happiness Boutique, and I couldn't be happier!
You can get 10% off your order from Happiness Boutique (of 19 Euros/ $20.15) through December 29th, 2016 by using my code Threadsforthomasblog at checkout.
I hope everyone has a great weekend, and make sure to visit Melissa and Sheree's blogs, because we are all sharing holiday dresses for the Weekend Wear link up.

I tend to avoid red as well, though I'm glad to see you went for this dress, because it's lovely on you. Glad the chicwish coat is of good quality, definitely important when it comes to faux fur!
