During the past couple of weeks, I've slowly been adding spring items into my wardrobe. There is just one problem with my early spring shopping: I want wear everything, and now! However, the two feet of snow that we've been buried under hasn't allowed me to do so. Well, that is until today, when temps were in the high 60's, but that's another story. Because I'm an impatient person, I decided to do what I love doing most, which is layer. I love that you can easily transition a spring dress for the winter by placing a turtleneck underneath, or adding a chunky knit or leather on top. Finish your look with a pair of opaque tights, and over the knee boots, and you're good to go in the chilly temperatures.
That is what I did with this cold shoulder polka dot dress. I recently got if from The Mint Julep, and am completely obsessed. I fell in love with the black and white polka dot print, but it's the cold shoulder cut that really had me. Add in the ruffle neckline, and I have found myself the perfect spring dress. To make it winter appropriate, I paired it with over the knee boots and my drape faux leather jacket. This jacket has been a staple in my closet for two years. The faux leather adds a little edge, while the drape front gives it a sweater like feel, making it the perfect layering piece.
I can not wait to style this dress in the spring, as I have a feeling it will be my go-to for many occasions. Make sure to check out The Mint Julep, as they have to cutest dresses. Trust me, this is not my first, or last from them!
