Well, we have officially reached winter temperatures here in Boston. With a high of 34 degrees today, it's time to pull out the heavy coats. Although I'm not ready for it to be THIS cold, I do have to admit that I was excited to wear this grid longline coat that I recently got from SheIn. I had been on the hunt for a long coat to add to my wardrobe, and when I saw this windowpane print beauty, I added it to my cart right away. I love how the windowpane print adds a classic, yet fun feel, making it the perfect coat to pair with everything from jeans to cocktail dresses.
I have to admit, after actually wearing the coat, I discovered it's best suited for milder weather. It isn't lined, so the material is thinner than I thought it would be, making more of a late fall type of coat (perfect for temps in the upper 40's and 50's). Also, I doesn't have a closure, which was easily fixed by adding a belt. What I do love about the coat, is that it looks more expensive than it is. You would never know that it cost less than $45!
I paired it with an Equipment button down, and my faux leather Spanx leggings, which by the way, I can't stop wearing! Although I bought them back in July during the Nordstrom sale, I only wore them for the first time this week, and haven't taken them off since. Not only do they suck you in at all the right places, but they're so comfortable! I was lucky to snag them on sale, but I'm telling you, I would pay full price for them, because they are worth it! I'm thinking I need them in the burgundy color, the moto style, and the regular material! I finished my look with my favorite grey booties (yes, I'm wearing them again...) and my vintage Chanel bag that was passed down from my Grandmother.

That is such a beautiful coat, and it looks awesome belted! :) Shame it's not as warm as you'd like as it certainly looks warm!
ReplyDeleteI was a bit surprised to read the temps until I remembered you use fahrenheit, haha! I had to use google to convert, and that does sound cold!
Thank you for the link up!

Oh wow! I love that coat!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you already have winter weather! It sounds crazy but I wish it got that cold here sometimes. It's going to be in the 60's here today, and we consider that "cold" (it's so sad!!). Love the coat, and of course that vintage bag!

I have a poncho with this same print and I just love it. That is such a great idea to add the belt and it looks very chic that way. This coat is the perfect length on you!

Rachael, this coat is everything! I absolutely love it. And it looks so great belted. Super chic and dramatic! There are so many gorgeous coats are sites like SheIn that I love, but they all seem too small in the shoulders for me to be able to wear anything except a tank top underneath! Perhaps I will find one soon.

Wow, super coat. I'm thinking I might need a new coat this year and something similar might do it for me. I'll look for one that does tie up I think, also I'm quite liking red too. How lucky are you with that beautiful heirloom, lucky lady, I'm sure that will travel well with you. x Jacqui

I remember you had those booties in blue last year! I LOVE the gray, too! I literally ordered this coat yesterday, haha! I didn't realize it doesn't come with a belt, womp. I love how you styled it, though. And such a fabulous purse from your grandmother! I need one to pass dow to my granddaughter, teehee
