In all of my years living in New England (aka my entire life), I never thought there would be a day where I would be wearing open toed shoes in February. However, we had some unusual spring-like weather this past week, and the almost 80 degree temperatures provided me with the opportunity to break out some of my new spring purchases.
This bell sleeve blouse is probably my favorite spring find, yet. We all know that I'm a sucker for bell sleeves, but I'm loving the stripe pattern and ruffle detail on the shoulders. The material is lightweight, making it ideal to wear all spring, and it will be perfect to pull out on a chilly summer night. I decided to pair it with my new button front jeans (obsessed with them, and the high rise cut), then finished my look with these open toe booties. They're from Target's new Universal Thread line, and definitely look more expensive than their $35 price tag. I do have to admit that they were cutting into my heels a bit when I wore them, but I'm hoping with a little breaking in, they'll be comfortable to wear all day long.
Unfortunately our warm weather was short lived, and I'm back in a chunky knit and watching it snow as I write this post. In the meantime, I'll be counting down the days for spring to actually arrive so I can wear this outfit again.
The feature blogger is Bo of Bo's Bodacious Blog. I'm loving her office inspired look and tweed skirt. The fringe hem is the cutest. Make sure to stop by her blog and say hello!
Such a fun striped top! It's a shame that the warmer weather didn't stick around but it's good that you were able to wear lighter layers for a bit :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the link up!
Hope you are having a lovely week :) We are getting a lot of rain at the moment which is a welcome change after the heatwaves, haha!

The weather has been so incredibly predictable, of late. I just read that the North Pole is currently 0 Celsius, about 40 degrees warmer than this same time last year. And we've had snowfall three, four times in Houston this Winter, and that never happens GRIN
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad you're having a shift in temperatures, Rachael, otherwise we may never have seen that gorgeous top you're wearing. Striped perfection.
How cute are those bell sleeves and the ruffle on top. We have had some warmer temps here, too and it's been lovely!! Love that button fly!

I can't believe it was so warm in New England—we've been having record-breaking lows in San Francisco! I also can't believe your booties are $35, because they're super cute!

We too experienced those kind of temps but it is back to being very cold and will snow for the next two days. The high-waist button-front jeans are awesome and fit you so well!
