Notice anything different about me in these photos? I'm tan! You guys, I have not been tan in almost five years, which if you have been following this blog for a while, then you know! Between pregnancy, babies, and a couple of skin scares, lets just say that the sun has not been my friend. Although I've tried a few sunless tanners in the past, I'm really too lazy to use them regularly, so I never achieve my desired color. So when AGLOW, a local airbrush tanning studio, reached out to me to try their airbrush tan, I had to give it a try. Lets just say, I'm obsessed! Not only was the tanning process easy, but I had the perfect color within minutes. What I love even more, is that AGLOW's products are all natural, and free of any gluten, nuts, soy, alcohol, oil, and parabens.
The morning before my airbrush tan, I made sure to exfoliate in the shower, and that's all I had to do for prep. The entire airbrush process only lasted 15 minutes (in and out the door), and before I left the studio, I already had the perfect glow. You want to wear loose clothing after (preferably in dark colors) while your tan develops. Then you go about your day. You can't shower or sweat for 8 hours after your tan, so you want to make sure that you don't have any big plans within that time, as you will feel a little greasy. However, if you can't wait the 8 hours, AGLOW offers an accelerated rapid tan, where you're able to shower in just 2 to 3 hours after!
The part I was most impressed with, is how long my tan lasted. It was the third day when my tan began to fade, but the process was slow and gradual. I still had tan lines after a week, and when I saw my sister almost two weeks after, she commented on how great my color looked! AGLOW gave me some great tips for making my tan last, some which included using a sharp razor when shaving, no exfoliating, making sure to moisturize right out of the shower (dry skin can make the tan flake off), and using their tan extender a couple of times during the week.
I have a feeling that I'll be a regular at AGLOW this summer, and if you live in the Boston area make sure to check them out. They have locations in Bedford and Acton. Also, mention my name when you book an appointment, and get 20% off your first airbrush tan!
