Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: What You Need To Know + Sneak Peek!

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts this week.  THIS WEEK!  This is the one sale that allows you to purchase BRAND NEW fall merchandise at discounted prices!  Now, I know it may be hard to think about fall merchandise when (for many of us) summer has just begun, but I'm telling you, now is the time to stock up on those fall wardrobe staples.   I'm giving you all the details you need to know so that you're prepared to shop.  Trust me, you'll want to be ready as items sell out fast!  Here is the lowdown:

What is the Anniversary Sale?

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale takes place every July, where new fall arrivals are offered at discounted prices.  Unlike other sales, where the merchandise has been sitting on the sales floor (or available online) for a period of time, this sale includes all BRAND NEW merchandise!  Once the sale ends, the prices will go back up.  This sale is also a favorite of mine because it includes many of the brands that I love.  Tory Burch, Hunter, Madewell, Free People, Stuart Weitzman, Frame, Spanx, and Theory to name a few.  Not only is it a great time to stock up on your fall wardrobe, but the sale includes accessories, beauty specials, and home decor.

When Does It Take Place?

July 12th-18th: Early Access.  This is for anyone with a Nordstrom credit card. Although I would never encourage anyone to open up a credit card, there are many advantages to having one.  First, you get to shop the sale for a full week before it opens up to the public.  I know some items sell out fast, so this way you're more likely to snag the items you want before your size sells out.  Second, because you get points on your purchases, plus a $60 credit (or Note) when you make a purchase the day you open the card.  You can apply for the card here.

July19th- August 4th: Public Access.  This is when the sale is open for everyone to shop.

*Prices go back up August 5th

Strategy

Sales can be overwhelming, so plan ahead.  Take inventory of your fall wardrobe, and make a list of the items that you need.  If you're a shopaholic (like I am) and trying to stick to a budget, stick to searching for the products that you need to add to your closet because, trust me, you will be distracted!  If there is something that you really want from the sale, purchase it right away, as sizes sell out fast.  Last year, I learned that a lot of items don't ever get restocked, so if there is something that you're loving, get it before it gone!  I also suggest that if you're not sure on what size to get, order two different sizes.  Nordstrom has the best return policy, and makes the return process easy.  You can return in store, or send it back with free shipping!  And finally, make sure to follow along while I shop the sale.  I'll be searching high and low for items that I feel make great additions to everyone's fall wardrobe.

I took a peek at the Anniversary Sale Catalog, and am already excited!  There are so many items that I want to add to my wardrobe, and I know there will be a TON more once the sale begins.  I've also noticed that plaid and animal print are huge his fall, and will be adding some fun pieces to my wardrobe, such as the camisole or flats below.  I will be heading to Nordstrom for try-on session on Friday and sharing my finds on the blog, the LIKEtoKNOW.it app, and on my Instagram Storiesso make sure to follow along!
